The sand found on the beach of Funtana Meiga is mainly formed by shells and fragments of shells crumbled by the current. In some cases the beach breaks off, leaving space for white stratified sandstone rocks that replace the beach in the sea bed in front.
The sea is green and the bottom is shallow.
